Two to STATE!

Last night at Northern Hills was an awesome experience for our team!  We had a full Jr. high and JV squad out in force cheering on our varsity teams and it worked well....James and Chrissy are going to State!  Congratulations to them and the rest of the varsity runners for a job well done!  It was probably the most beautiful weather ever for the Section meet and the runners did an excellent job.  Girls took 9th overall out of 22 teams.  James placed 4th and Chrissy 5th to advance.  What a day!

State meet is next Saturday, November 1, at St. Olaf in Northfield. James will compete at 10 a.m. and Chrissy at 11 a.m.  I hope we will see a lot of the CC "family" there to show support and get a vision and inspiration for the future of Tiger CC!!

To wrap up the season, we will have the banquet in the cafeteria on Monday, November 3 from 6 to 8 p.m.  Potluck style as last year and Boosters will provide a beverage and plates and silverware

ALL-CONFERENCE Honors; MEA Workouts; Next Week

Exciting times last night at Byron for our CC runners!  We had 3 that made All-Conference (Top 18) with James Mathison, 3rd; Chrissy Lofgren, 8th; and Marie Larson, 14th!  Congratulations!  What an awesome job and reward for hard work throughout the season!

It was the last HVL for Lauren Mikel, James, Emily Scruggs, and Caitlyn Hughes, our seniors.  We will miss them next year, for sure!  Lauren and James still have Sections to go so we will cheer them on through that meet next week...and beyond!

Additionally, there were several that ran on JV, up from Junior High.  Good results from Isabel Field, 8th; Taylor Smith, 12th; Logen Faulhaber, 19th; and Drew Simmons, 50th.

Emily Scruggs and Logen Faulhaber both had PB performances.  Emily dropped 47 seconds (21:05) and Logen, from the HVL last year, dropped 43 seconds (21:52).  Well done!!!

Here is the link for the MEA PRACTICES for those that will be competing next week!  Stay fired-up, fresh and focused!

Sections will be held at Northern Hills Golf Course on Thursday in Rochester. The girls run at 4:00 and the boys run at 4:45.  We will eat at the Old Country Buffet as a team following the awards ceremony.  The Boosters will pay for the athletes.  We hope to see a lot of our Families & Fans at the meet!

And last but not least, my favorite runners are Emily and Chrissy

Due to many conflicting schedules, this weeks practices over MEA will be on your own after Wednesday.  I will give you the workouts to do. Remember, we want to stay strong to the FINISH!  Be intentional about your workouts and call on a teammate if they are available to work with! Wednesday we will practice together after my workshop time, 3:30! Don't forget we have concessions that evening as well!

For those that are done and those that will soon wrap up their season, please wash your uniforms and sweats and then place them in a plastic bag with your name on it. Please attach a paper with your name and state your clothing articles and numbers of each. Ex: top, 15; shorts, 15; sweat top, 12; pants, 12.

Also, here is the link to the MONSTER BAR's that Autumn's Mom made for the dinner at their place.  Thank you again, Feine Family, for hosting that event and the recipe!

Finally, thank you to Mrs. Simmons for getting the team t-shirt order together and underway.  We look forward to wearing those to advertise our fine program to the school and our community!

Regular Season & Jr. High Wrap Up

The junior high regular season has come to an end, so quickly. We had several PB performances; way to finish strong! Those junior high runners were:  Logen Faulhaber, -1:03; Drew Simmons, -9; Kenai Weinhold, -42 and Marie Rindahl, -1:08!!  Awesome!  Also, Autumn and Taylor gave a 1-2 punch for first and second place finishes, well done!  Logen ran strong to a 2nd place finish while Drew was close behind in 4th for the boys. Niiice!!

Varsity and JV PB's yesterday from Austin were Isaiah Scruggs, -21; Dylan Deetz, -13; Laura Pedelty, -17; Lauren Mikel, -18; and Emily Scruggs, -34. Nicely done everyone!

We are preparing for HVL next Tuesday at Byron and then the Section meet the following Thursday, 10/23 @ Northern Hills in Rochester.  Practices are open to varsity and JV runners and those junior high that may compete in the JV HVL races.  We can have 10 on the roster for Sections so some JV girls will continue to train through that meet as well.

All runners will go to the HVL and Section meets, in Byron and Rochester, to cheer on their teammates. For the Section meet our tradition is to go to Old Country Buffet after the Section meet as a team.  We reserve the back Community Room so if there are parents that would like to join us, they are welcome to.  The Boosters pay for the runners meals.  Also, we purchase a Section t-shirt for the varsity runners.

MEA break workouts.  I will update you after practice today about the workouts over break.  Several varsity runners will not be available so we will make that decision about individual workouts or team.  Stay tuned!
