Roy Griak Summary

The teams ran well at Roy Griak and we had two top 10 finishes for the girls, Abby was 6th and Kailee was 8th over the shortened 2-mile course.  Laura was 32nd, Gloria 164th, Gracie, 171, and Olivia, 201st out of a whopping 408 runners!!  Our girls worked to bring our number 4-6 runners closer together and they accomplished that!  It was a great effort to warm up and stay cool at the same time on this very HOT day!

The boys only ran 3 runners due to recovering injuries and sickness.  Isaiah led for the boys in 92nd place with Jakob in 250th and Christopher placing 362nd.  This was out of a field of 499 runners!  Not too shabby for a relatively young team! It was a good effort and good experience all around with top-notch competition for everyone!  The results are at a link to the right for your perusal.

This week we only have a Thursday meet at St. Charles and the temps look to be back to "normal" for this time of year, yay!  Here are the details:

Fun at Lake City

The season is marching on and the teams ran very well at Mayo with Abby taking third to two Pings!  The girls placed 7th out of 26 teams with strong performances by all the ladies.  Jakob Ratelle led for the boys in a time of 19:23 placing 99th and the boys team finished 23rd, just one point behind Cotter.

Lake City was a fun meet, fast times and a 3-peat for the apple pie!  Abby and Kailee gave a one-two punch taking first and second with Abby setting a new course record in 18:51!  Awesome!  Kailee, Laura, Isabel and Gloria all landed top 15 and took first place with 29 points.  Laura dropped 8 seconds off her PB and Gloria cut 36 seconds for a very strong fifth position for the Tigers Ladies!

Isaiah was pretty excited to nearly hit his sub 17 goal running 17:00.04!  So close, we'll take it!  It was a great effort by Logen Faulhaber as well dropping 39 seconds since the Mayo invite and getting a personal best while placing fourth on varsity for the boys.

Saturday we leave at 12:30 for Roy Griak for a varsity only race. Other team members are welcome and we'll go out to eat after the race. We hope to be home by 9 p.m.

Next week, St. Charles on Thursday! Click on St. Charles for the meet info.

Go Tigers!

A Great Day at Luther!

A particularly bright spot in the day's competition was the junior high boys performances placing them third out of 8 teams, primarily large schools. Awesome!  Jadon Ratelle led the way for the Tigers on the 2 mile course in a time of 12:42.8 and close behind was Chase Neubauer in a time of 12:49. Dylan Yennie came in at 13:21 and Ethan Flicek in 13:41 with Caleb Goff rounding out the top five scorers in 13:45.  Their time between the first and fifth runners was the second smallest gap out of the top 8 schools.  Way to pack together guys!

The rest of the results, individual and team, can be found at the 2017 Results link to the right or by clicking here.

The varsity girls placed 9th out of 26 teams and had very strong performances! The schools ahead of them are large schools so they had great competition and a large field to compete with to prepare for those big meets ahead.

The ladies were led by Kailee Malone in 19:59.7 with Abby Orvis close behind in 20:01.4.  The runners scored 18-19-37-72-84(96) out of 176 total runners! Awesome job! Their time spread between first and fifth runners was 2:20; better than three teams placing ahead of them.  Well done ladies!

The boys varsity placed 17th out of 24 teams.  We had several very strong performances with Isaiah Scruggs leading the pack in 17:17 and Jakob Ratelle following in 18:09 beating his goal time for the day.  Their finishing places were:
14-43-114-124-127 out of 158 runners.  Good efforts!

After the meet we enjoyed a pizza lunch at Mabe's Pizza followed by a stop at the Whippy Dip for ice cream.  Thank you to our Booster Budget for these extras for the kids!  It was a fun and productive day all around!

Bill Glomski Invite, a Success!

We had a great day for racing on Thursday and came away with some excellent performances for our season-opener!  Congratulations to all the athletes on their great team and individual performances. Good to get a race under our belts and relieve some of the jitters anticipating that first event, particularly for our newcomers.

The girls came away repeat winners placing first by a whopping margin!  All 7 in the top 22 runners is pretty amazing!  Let's keep it rolling!  We had strong performances by Jakob Ratelle, on varsity, Jadon Ratelle on junior varsity and Chase Neubauer for junior high, leading for the Tigers in each of those races. Emily Schlechtinger and Lori Bailey had strong performances for junior varsity girls and leading the way for the junior high girls was Maddie Lawrence.

The results will be at a link to the right after each meet.  Also, you may already know, wayzataresults.com is available almost immediately after each race, or soon after, for results at most meets.

This week we have pictures right after school on Friday, the 8th.  We depart for Luther College on Saturday a.m. at 6:40, be at the school at 6:30!
