Home Invite Coming Soon and Practice Times this Week!

We had a great day at Fairmont last Friday.  Well done runners!  Way to start the season off with a bang!

Thursday will be our home invite.  The girls are eyeing their first home meet victory and it looks like a good day for it.  The boys are coming in very strong and hope to make top three.  It will be an exciting day of racing!

Here are the MAPS and TIME SCHEDULE (click links) for the day.  It is a new course due the potential for water spots.  Note when you are on the course, we've mowed some paths to get from the soccer field areas to the tennis court area for easier cheering. Fire-Up Stewie runners and fans! I hope to see you at the races!

Here are the practice times and places the rest of this week adjusted!

Tuesday: 3:15 at the weight room doors and then pool from 4-5:15.
Wednesday:  3:15  MEET AT BEAR CAVE WITH COACH KING BY THE ROCK!
Thursday:  RACE DAY, MEET AT BEAR CAVE AT 3:00 BY THE SYAA SHED
Friday:  9:00 a.m. pool practice and bagels
Monday, Labor Day:  5:00 practice meet in my room.
Tuesday and school days:  3:10 to 5:10.  Due to new dismissal times.

Wednesday Eats and Fairmont Feats!

Wednesday is quickly upon us and we are planning to be eating together after practice, 5:30, at Lake Florence Pavilion. Make sure that you let Mr. Orvis know if you are able to attend and how many you will have with you so they can plan the food accordingly.  An email has been sent as well for your easy reply.

I'm attaching the link I received for the Fairmont Invitational.  It is quite a different format than we are used to so please check it out by clicking above. Different race start times for each GRADE level. Varsity scores will be determined by taking the top 5 fastest 4k times (grades 9-12).

After the awards (11:50) the team will go to lunch (pizza, provided by the Boosters, and a beverage) and weather permitting, to the city swimming pool. We will swim til 3:00 and then head home arriving approximately at 5:00 p.m.

Athletes will need to wear their uniforms on the bus ride over, leaving the MS bus corral at 6:45 a.m.!  Be there to load at 6:35 please.  There should be some good competition to get our season under way!

Finally, don't forget to download the medical release form that is here on the blog(link at the right) and bring with you to our first practice!!!  If you do not have the signed release form, you WILL NOT PARTICIPATE at EAGLE BLUFF!!
