Pictures on Wednesday, September 3!

A great three weeks are behind us already for CC.  It went fast, was productive, kids bonded, and we had fun!  Let's keep that as our focus as the school year starts.

Two notices:  Monday practice will be from 3:30 to 5:15.  If you are unable to attend due to family plans, please work in a run, stretches and abs and let me know you won't be there. Add your mileage to the chart with Coach Parry on Tuesday.

Second:  Wednesday after school is our team / individual pictures.  Please get a packet from me at concessions Friday night or practice Monday.  Come ready to practice in your uniform at 3:30 Wednesday with packet and money if you are ordering.

P.S.  Thanks to the Husgen family for hosting the 2nd Annual pasta dinner for the team on Tuesday night. It was delicious and the kids had a wonderful time!

First Meet in the Books!

Thanks to everyone for all their help in making our Stewartville "Bill Glomski" Invitational a success!  What a memorable day with this weather!  Here is a link to the results http://www.wayzataresults.com/event/show/93461857.  Some strong performances right off the bat.  Good job runners!

Reminder:  practice tomorrow from 10 to 12.  Bring swim gear just in case but that part may be cancelled contingent on the weather.

Tuesday Team Dinner @ Husgens!

The athletes pre-meet dinner will be held at Heather and Shawn Husgen's house.  Arrive between 6:15 and 6:30.  Arrange for a ride either with teammates leaving from school parking lot or your parents.  This is for fun, not a required activity.  No transportation is provided by the school, sorry! They live east of Hwy. 63 just after the airport exit.  You can see their spacious backyard from the highway!

Practice is Still On!

Thursday, today, practice will still be held!  We will do indoor core strengthening activities.  Weight room, Pilates and possibly Jillian!  If the weather breaks, we could get in a short run too. Possible that we could be done a bit early.

More Updates!

The next two Fridays, August 22 and August 29 our practice time is changed by 30 minutes to 10 a.m. to noon.  We will run and lift from 10 to 11 and pool practice from 11 to noon.  If this poses a problem, please contact me and we will work around any schedule conflicts.

Next week Monday practice will be at 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. but TU, and WED will be from 3:45 to 5:30 after teacher workshops.  THURSDAY Stewie Invite! Friday, 10 to noon with pool 11 to 12.

Quick Update!

  • Several runners still need to return their medical form signed and completed for our Wednesday Eagle Bluff field trip.
  • Reread previous post on details for Eagle Bluff to prepare.
  • Monday Potluck (8/25) at Lake Florence is changed to ice cream sundaes hosted by the CC Boosters.  An email has been sent to everyone with sign-up form(s) and details so please be on the lookout for that.
  • Our first football concession is 8/29, Friday after our invitational.

Eagle Bluff Update & Week One Wrap!

Next week, practices at 9:30 to 11:30 except Wednesday!
Reminder for next Wednesday, 4/20.  We will depart school at 7:45 a.m. from the Middle School lot.  Note the following:

  1. Bring signed medical release form
  2. Bring $15
  3. Wear weather-appropriate clothing (we go outside, rain or shine)
  4. No flip flops
  5. Close-toed shoes only
  6. Bring water bottle
  7. Bring a bag lunch (Boosters will provide a beverage & fruit)
We will leave Eagle Bluff at 4:15 so return approximately 5:15.

A great first week of practice.  Continue to stretch and do abs over the weekend and consider biking, rollerblading, and swimming for some refreshing cross-training opportunities.  If you are sore, ice-massage for 15 minutes, circular motion, and repeat a couple of times as you can through the days.

Some photo highlights of our Pool Triathlon practice, thank you Coach Parry!

First day down!

First day of CC went very well.  It was good to see everyone and get back into the routine of running.  I noticed there are a few that did not sign-up that were originally on the list.  If you notice someone not there that you would like to have on the team, please extend yourself to them and invite them to join us!

Thursday pool practice is at the same time, 9:30 to 11:30 with the pool part from 10 - 11.  Bring a bike if you have one available to share for our triathlon practice.

Eagle Bluff, next Wednesday, August 20, bring a bag lunch and $15.  Boosters will provide beverages.   Bus will leave at 7:45 from the MS bus corral.  I will give you a medical form that will need to be filled out and returned in order to participate.

Reminder to drink fluids regularly!  Also, think about what foods will make your "machine" run optimally.  Think "smoothies" for a snack instead of chips or pop!
