3 Weeks Down. Results links to the right.

Good effort at practice today Runners.  Remember we have a 9:00 a.m. practice on Monday, September 2, Labor Day. If you have opportunity to get in a nice run on Saturday or Sunday, that would be to your advantage.  Make sure one day is restful, however. Remember to hydrate routinely.

Next week on Thursday, we will travel to Hayfield and Friday we host the concessions.  I will post details early next week.  If you have not signed up for volunteering at the concession stand, please contact me or Cheryl Paulson to do so.

Great start to our CC season; already 3 weeks gone! Go Tigers!

P.S.  Girls, if you compare the JV and Varsity results of Lake City and PEM, notice that they will have their top JV runners displacing their number 3 and 4 Varsity runners by time.  Some names to be aware of as we set goals.

Post Invitational Note and Link to Pictures

A HUGE thank you to all the volunteers for helping at our Invite last night! Special acknowledgement to CHERYL PAULSON who single-handedly got our concessions in order (purchases etc.) and spearheaded the volunteer coordination.  We certainly could not have pulled it off without everybody's help!

Super start to the season as our Tigers set the bar high with our varsity girls placing 2nd (up from third last year!) and beating powerhouse PEM!  AWESOME!  James ran solo on boys varsity and did a fine job and hopefully he'll be joined by some of our junior varsity boys soon. Nice to see our large junior high group finally get in a race to get things rolling.  New experience for most of them and they looked great.  Loved to see the strong finishes from all our runners as they turned the corner to home!

Mrs. Simmons has agreed to be our photographer and she has SKILLS!  So I am sharing a link to those pool and Invitational pictures she's taken so far.  Enjoy!  We've got some awesome looking Tigers on the team!

Practice time change

Just a reminder that practice on Wednesday has been changed to 8 a.m.. Meet at the same place as usual. It will probably be done by 9 to 9:15.  Sorry for the short notice. If you or your runner cannot attend, please text me.

Runners, eat a good supper Wednesday and a good breakfast on Thursday. Think pancakes or waffles. Num. Fire-up Tigers!

First team dinner

Great job by Heather and Chrissy on the homemade ravioli for supper tonight. Awesome!  They have skills beyond their running abilities! It looked like everyone had a good time. Thanks to the Husgens for hosting, and Pedeltys for adding some delicious corn-on-the-cob. Good start to the season everyone. Here  are a few more pictures from our last pool practice.

NEEDING 4-Wheelers!

Runners and Parents!  For the home invitational next Thursday, we will need 2-4 4-wheelers or golf carts, something on that order for leading the races at Bear Cave.  We also use one to follow the last runner.  If any of you have one that we could use, I need to hear from you ASAP.  It would be wonderful if we need not look any further, if possible.  Please text me at my cell phone number.

Also,  tomorrow is our triathlon practice at 4 p.m. Meet at the pool about 10 to 4.  Bring a bike if you have one.  No worries if you don't as you will have a partner.  Friday, 9 a.m. and Monday through Thursday next week, all 4 p.m. practices! Friday next week also 9 a.m.

Reminder that next Monday night the kids are hosting the first supper before our invitational.  Usually these fall the night before a meet, but there are open houses at school the 28th and other events the 27th so it will be held at HEATHER and SHAWN'S house right after practice.  Their address is:
6815 Summerset Court SE, Rochester, MN 55904.  Several upperclassmen are willing to drive so plan accordingly with your parents.  The coaches are not in charge of any of this so we will not be transporting anyone.

First Meet: Stewie Invite TIME CHANGES BELOW, Please Note!

Thank you all for coming out to the picnic tonight!  It is great to see everyone and get a chance to welcome new members to the CC family.  A few questions came up about the race next week.  Here are some of the details.

Runners will need to be at Bear Cave Park by 2:50.  We will have a tent set up in the center grassy area.  Please drop off by the SYAA building but park your cars near the softball facility in the next parking lot to the west. There will be signs directing you.

The races will be run as follows:
Boys Junior High         4:00          1600m.
Girls Junior High         4:15          1600m.
Girls Varsity               4:30          4000m.
Boys Varsity               5:00          5000m.
Boys Jr. Varsity           5:30          5000m.
Girls Jr. Varsity           5:30          4000m.
**Elementary Kids Run**     6:00  800m. CC Run for any age up to 6th grade.

If you have younger siblings, have them get some exposure to the sport and run in our first ever kids run.  All runners will receive a ribbon. Wear your running shoes and come to run!

How do you score in CC?  The lowest team score wins, thus, if your runners finished in 1-5th places you would have a perfect team score of 15. So everyone gets points for the place that they finish individually.

I will get a map uploaded before the meet day so check back.

Week One Done!

Week one, CC, has already come and gone!  As it went fast, so will the remaining days and weeks.  Let's make each one count for maximum fun and maximum benefit.

Practices this week will be Monday, 4 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday 6 p.m.,
Thursday, Pool and Bike (triathlon) 4 p.m., and Friday 9 a.m.

Keep up the good work Tigers!

Practices Begin Next Monday!

Hello Runners!
Next week our practice time will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. so please inform your parents.  What do you need?  Comfortable running clothes and shoes and a water bottle that you will be comfortable carrying with you.

What are we going to do?
We will begin with stretching and warm-up drills.  Go for a run, and return to school to do cool-down stretching and/or weights, yoga or Pilates style exercises.

I would like to do a pool workout one day each of the next two weeks. I am aiming for Thursday and will let you know as it approaches if that is certain.  Weather sometimes dictates when we go.

I am anticipating a fun season and am excited to get it underway and I know Coach Parry feels the same.  Continue with your running and stretching and remember, ice massage for sore muscles.

P.S. I heard that Chrissy is running the Sparta 5k on Saturday with her Mom at Mayo High School. It starts at 9 a.m. and is only 15 bucks! I would love to join them but will be on active grandma-duty.  I hope to go watch and cheer however.  Just an FYI!

Go Tigers!

Captain's Practices Underway!

Hello Runners!
The season is fast approaching. Riley and Raven are ready to meet with you Monday through Friday, August 5th - 9th at 9 a.m. at the front doors to the Middle School.  I hope that you can all attend.  If for any reason you cannot make it, be sure to be running and stretching on your own.  Abs too!

We can never be certain of the weather.  As I write this I know the ladies I run with at 6 a.m. are not meeting as we expect rain tomorrow.  It is a guesstimate for you as well, when departure times rolls around, it is your call as to whether or not you think you will be running due to the weather.  The point is, if you do not get together at 9:00 a.m., try to get yourself down the road when the weather clears!

Have an awesome week and I am looking forward to meeting with you all next week.  On that note, stay tuned for a possible time adjustment. There may be a conflict with technology instruction in the a.m. for the teachers.  I will post the update here as well as send out a text to the group.  We may have fluctuating times as there will likely be a couple of pool workouts and those must be at 4:00.

STAY TUNED!
