CC Runs for July & Summerfest Run!

Runners!  I hope your summer vacation is going well and you are able to "cross-train" with many enjoyable activities including your running!  Don't forget to keep track of your mileage on a sheet of paper with the date of your running activity.

Get ready to meet as a group on each Wednesday in July beginning July 9, from 9 to 11 a.m.  I will meet in the NW parking lot with the mini-bus for anyone that needs a ride.  Upperclassmen can meet us at McHenry's if they'd like.  The bus will accommodate 14 riders. You can get to McHenry's by taking Hwy. 30 east from Stewartville, turn North on Cty. Rd. 1 and just before the interstate on 80th Street, turn right. There is a sign for the Root River Park of Olmsted County, head for that and keep going on the gravel another 1/4 mile.   

Wear your running clothes and plan for the weather. If it is going to rain, we will still hold the a.m. session, but if storms are predicted, we will plan to meet from 4 to 6 p.m. weather permitting. Check the blog for the updates!

Each day we will learn a new drill, do some stretches, do a run / running activity and introduce you to a healthy snack!  It is our hope that you continue to build on your running mileage each week.

I am looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible next Wednesday. Please comment on this post whether you can or cannot make it so we can plan accordingly for riders and snacks.  If you cannot make this time-frame, please indicate what day or time of day is workable for you.  It will provide an option to change the time/day in order to work with the majority.  Check your email for updates!

Summerfest Run!  Reminder that helpers are needed on Thursday, July 3rd with setup down at Lake Florence.  Contact Sue Lofgren if you are able to help.  Also, Friday the 4th helpers are needed for the race cleanup afterwards. It would be great to see you racing and hanging around for cleanup as needed!

Finally,  just a reminder that James and Lauren are happy to run with any and all that can show up on Sunday nights at the school from 7 to 8 p.m.!
